Brave Mama aims to offer more holistic care and adequate support to ALL mothers in today’s day and age. We live in a world in which the overall well-being of mothers, old and new, are being heavily neglected leading to burn-out and / or other psychological, emotional or physical fallouts. Our goal is to combat this as best as we can.

Occupational Therapy and maternal wellness

Occupational therapy (OT) is a holistic profession that incorporates purposeful and meaningful occupations in order to promote performance in the daily activities of life. OT in maternal mental health provides services to support women who have a pre-existing perinatal mood disorders or high-risk infants (Slootjes, McKinstry, & Kenny, 2016).

Occupational Therapy Psychodynamic groups

These groups are aimed to assist mothers in overcoming any functional barriers, be it psychological, emotional or physical, preventing them from being the best mommies that they can be to their children whilst at the same time fostering a safe and supportive community for mothers.

Individual mom-coaching sessions

These sessions are aimed to

create a safe and supportive space for mothers to address any functional barriers, be it psychological, emotional or physical, preventing them from being the best mommies that they can be to their children

Diagnosis we

  • Mood disorders such as

    depression or bipolar

 21 day self-investment Challenge

This challenge is aimed to encourage mothers to set daily and weekly rhythms in their lives to ensure that they are being invested in on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level. It consists of daily and weekly self-investment targets to be met.
